CLASSICAL
ELEGANCE IN ALDERLEY EDGE (Phase 1 –
2007/8)
The
brief was to create a sophisticated, low maintenance,
formal styled garden to include a good sized
area for entertaining to the rear of the garden
looking back at the house.
The
original garden is very mature. However, the
bottom third of the garden was unused could
not be seen because of overgrown old shrubs
and trees and the open view of ‘The
Edge’ beyond was totally obscured.
The
site was cleared of old trees and shrubs with
specific specimens being kept. The garden
was opened up and the borrowed views of the
fields and ‘The Edge’ beyond instantly
made the garden feel larger. Outside Rooms’
recommended Landscaping Contractors cleared
the site and then commenced construction.
Phase
1 of the garden is completed. An illuminated
gravelled and granite setts walk leads from
the house. Black steel archways, newly planted
alternatively with scented white climbing
roses and white wisteria emerges onto a stone
entertaining area complete with open sided
gazebo. A boardwalk meanders through mass
planting of shrubs and ground cover plants,
over a dry stream bed and on to the ornamental
pond. A tree seat offers a shady spot to view
the garden to all aspects.
This
garden is a sophisticated classical space
with modern elegant lines, stone edged stepped
lawned areas and interesting planting. The
garden is subtly lit throughout.
Phases 2 and 3 of the garden will commence
sometime in 2008.
Testimonial
from clients
“We
are extremely pleased with how the development
of the garden is progressing. Your ‘vision’
of the garden on paper is now a reality and
Charlotte and I are delighted and we are really
looking forward to the rest of the project
being completed.”
TRADITIONAL
COTTAGE WALLED GARDEN IN ANTROBUS
Constructed late 2007/8
The
brief was to create a Cheshire brick walled
garden where an old orchard used to be. There
was to be no lawn but the garden was to have
raised beds, space for traditional cottage
style planting and a summerhouse.
Outside
Rooms’ recommended Landscape Contractors
cleared the site and created the different
levels of the garden. The old Cheshire brick
boundary walls were constructed and the low
retaining walls within the garden were built
creating raised beds. An irrigation system
was installed throughout the garden.
The finished garden was based around a central
circle radiating out on two levels. The
planting up is to commence in Spring 2008.
“Debbie
and I are delighted with our new garden. We
found the initial Consultation and Design
stage to be a much easier process than we
had imagined – you obviously listened
very closely to our wish list, and we were
able to settle on the design quite quickly.
Watching
the garden develop from your design into reality,
and seeing the materials we had selected all
coming together so well to form the finished
garden was great.
We
were impressed with your service and also
your interest in seeing the project right
through to its conclusion. Thank you very
much.”
